    Understand

    I cannot understand
    that is all I can answer you with
    The words you speak, the gestures you make
    They’re unclear to me

    I cannot understand
    that is all I know to say
    when you make those faces, when you show those emotions
    that mean nothing to me

    I want to say ‘I am sorry’
    or to understand you someway
    but there is no movement in my chest
    nothing that murmurs deep inside

    I want to say ‘I get you’
    and relate to what you want
    but nothing reaches out from my heart
    but a cold, nothingness

    So even though you’re trying so hard
    and even though I’m listening aptly
    I can only nod or shake my head to questions
    because…I cannot understand

    You can't write something like that and call yourself emotionless, though. The point you're trying to get across might be one of apathy, but it's quite obvious that there was much feeling when this was penned.
